Early Arrival Request Form

The Office of Residence Life & Housing has restructured our move-in dates to allow for more flexibility. At this time, we are not accepting personal individual early arrival requests. Students should plan to select a move-in appointment on one of the available dates.

Fall Semester

New Student Move-in: Thursday, August 29

Returning Student Move-in: Friday, August 31 or Saturday, September 1

Spring Semester

Transfer/New Resident Move-in: Satruday, January 11 from 9 AM until 12 PM

Returning Student Move-in: Saturday, January 11 after 12 PM and Sunday, January 12

Important Considerations

The following is a list of reasons why an early arrival request is typically approved by Residence Life & Housing. If you are unable to move in on the designated and believe you qualify for one of the reasons below please contact Residence Life & Housing at residencelife@loyola.edu to discuss.

  • Financial need
  • Medical emergencies/accommodations
  • Travel emergencies (change of flight, weather delay)
  • International student travel
  • Academic requirement

Be prepared in the case that your early arrival request is denied, as most students will not be permitted to return early. As stated in the Community Standards, there is a standard charge of $80 per night for all granted early arrivals outside of your housing contract dates.

If you have specific questions or concerns, please email residencelife@loyola.edu.

University Required Early Arrivals

Residence Life & Housing has a process where university departments can request for their group (for example: athletes, student employees, pre-fall programs) to move into housing before the standard move-in dates. In this scenario, the sponsoring department must make the request on behalf of the student. Any student who is included in this request will be notified of their approved move-in date and time by Residence Life & Housing and their group coordinator in July. These students will not be required to schedule a move-in appointment for the standard process.
