Understanding Your Assignment: Housing Codes
The room assignment issued to you via email is written in a code consistent with our internal housing operations language. The following examples will illustrate the meaning behind the various codes used in your assignment.
ERH: Thea Bowman Hall
Example: ERH*101A1
- ERH: this is the abbreviation for Thea Bowman Hall
- 101: this is the floor you are on and room that you are in (i.e. 1st floor, room 101)
- A: this letter is which side of the bathroom you are on *
- 1: this number signifies a bed space in your room (bed 1 of 2)
*Please note that Thea Bowman Hall has double rooms that are connected to one other double room by a bathroom – so 101A is connected to 101B by a bathroom
HAM: Hammerman Hall
Example: HAM*200A2
- HAM: this is the abbreviation for Hammerman Hall
- 100: this is the floor you are on and room that you are in (i.e. 1st floor, room 100)
- A2: this letter/number combination signifies a bed space in your room (bed 2 of 2)
Please note that certain rooms in Hammerman house 3-4 students.
BU: Butler Hall
Example: BU*304A1
- BU: this is the abbreviation for Butler Hall
- 304: this is the floor you are on and room that you are in (i.e. 3rd floor, room 304)
- A1: this letter/number combination signifies a bed space in your room (bed 1 of 2)
Please note that certain rooms in Butler house 3-4 students.
HOP: Hopkins Court
Example: HOP*333A1
- HOP: this is the abbreviation for Hopkins Court
- 333: this is the floor you are on and room that you are in (i.e. 3rd floor, room 333)
- A1: this letter/number combination signifies a bed space in your room (bed 1 of 2)
Please note that in Hopkins Court, we also have rooms that are numbered 011-036. These rooms are located on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors of Hopkins.
Rooms 011-018 are on the 1st floor. Rooms 020-028 are on the 2nd floor. Rooms 030-036 are on the 3rd floor.
Please note that certain rooms in Hopkins house 3-4 students.
CAM: Campion Tower
Example: CAM*705B1
- CAM: this is the abbreviation for Campion Tower
- 705: this is the floor you are on and room that you are in (i.e. 7th floor, room 705)
- B: the second letter is your bedroom
- 1: this number signifies a bed space in your bedroom (bed 1 of 2)
