Humanities
Loyola's humanities division includes nine departments that offer the chance to continue to read, write, speak, ponder, and act with passion and purpose.
Loyola has long emphasized a centuries-old tradition of education steeped in the humanities. Yet that tradition must continually be reclaimed and renewed. Loyola's mission is to provide undergraduates with a broad, value-centered education that stresses critical thinking, the art of communication, and a personal and professional integrity that is based on its Jewish and Christian tradition and is open to other cultural experiences through the study of the humanities, as well as the social and natural sciences.
