African Diaspora Celebration
January is almost here, and that means African Diaspora Celebration will be underway!
Join the African Student Association (ASA) as they organize a number of informative,
engaging, and fun events to better educate and bring together the Loyola community.

Asian Pacific Islander Awareness Month
Join the Asian Cultural Alliance (ACA) and the Middle Eastern South Asian Student
Alliance (MESA) in April as they celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander Awareness (APIA).

Athletics Pride Night
Cheer on the Greyhounds at the annual Pride Night event in celebration of National
Coming Out Day (Oct. 11). Arrive early for the pre-game tailgate and stay later for
the after party. Sporting event is dependent upon team schedules.
Black History Month
Every February, the Black Student Association (BSA) celebrates Black History Month
by organizing a variety of educational, social, and cultural events and activities
for the Loyola University community. Check back later for information about the terrific
events scheduled for February!
BSA Fashion Show
The Black Student Association (BSA) Fashion Show began in 1998 as a campus-wide event
to show Black culture, fashion and music through runway. Since 1998 the show has become
bigger and better! Students from all over campus participate as models to make the
show a success every year.
Caribbean Heritage Celebration
November marks the commencement of Caribbean Heritage Celebration (CHC). Each November,
the Caribbean Students’ Union (CSU) provides the Loyola community with a number of
educational, social, and cultural events to recognize this important month.
Drag Bingo
What’s better than a night of bingo? A night of bingo with a drag queen! Play for
free, be entertained, and win big!
Drag Show
Start the new semester and year with some queer joy and incredible drag! Local drag
performers bring their best to the Evergreen campus for a night of fun. Loyola drag
performers (students/employees) are encouraged to inquire about performing during
the show.
IgnatianQ Conference
IgnatianQ brings together the community of LGBTQPIA+ folks (and allies) at Jesuit
universities from across the U.S. to explore the intersections of sexuality, gender,
and spirituality together. Loyola sends a delegation of students every year and hosted
the conference in 2018.
Latinx Heritage Month
Latinx Heritage Month (LHM) offers the Loyola community a chance to participate in
programs and events to celebrate Latinx heritage, nationally known as Hispanic Heritage
Month. Programs and events during National Hispanic Heritage Month take place from
Sept. 15-Oct. 15. Join the Association of Latinx Students (ALAS) as they take the
lead on engaging and educating the Loyola community.
LGBTQ+ Health Awareness Week
As part of a larger national celebration, Loyola’s LGBTQ+ Health Awareness Week includes
a variety of programs that share information and resources regarding LGBTQ+ health,
including those on and off campus.
Meet Your Q’mmunity: A Queer Social
Kick off the academic year by gathering with the Loyola Q’mmunity to get to know LGBTQ+
peers and employees. Make new connections and learn about all of the LGBTQ+ resources
available on campus.
Native American Heritage Month
Here at Loyola, November is when we celebrate Native American Heritage Month. Every
November, the Native American Student Association (NASA) offers the Loyola community
a series of thought provoking, educational, and engaging events to shed light and
awareness on the experiences of indigenous communities.
Sexuality & Gender Diversity Awareness Week
SAGDAW is a week full of activities and events that celebrate and bring awareness
to the LGBTQ+ community. The event has taken place on Loyola’s campus for over 20
years!
Transgender Day of Remembrance
An annual vigil hosted by The LGBTQ+ Experience, Transgender Day of Remembrance invites
members of our community to share their stories and remember lives lost to anti-transgender
violence. A resource fair takes place before the vigil and features on- and off-campus
partners.
