Loyola moves up a spot in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Regional Universities North” ranking

Loyola University Maryland climbed to a tie for No. 6 in the “Best Regional Universities North” list in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 “Best Colleges” ranking. Loyola has been recognized in the top 10 for more than a decade.

Loyola was also ranked No. 3 for “Undergraduate Teaching” in the North Region. The ranking recognizes the commitment and dedication to high-quality undergraduate teaching by Loyola’s faculty and administrators.

Sawyer, J.D., president of Loyola. “We are especially proud of the recognition of our first-rate faculty, who live their commitment to academic excellence and student success each and every day.”

In addition, U.S. News & World Report ranked Loyola:

  • No. 19 for “International Business”
  • No. 29 for “Marketing” (tied)
  • No. 30 for “Management” (tied)
  • No. 31 for “Accounting” (tied)
  • No. 32 for “Finance” (tied)
  • No. 60 for “Best Value Schools – Regional Universities North”
  • No. 78 for “Undergraduate Engineering Programs – No Doctorate” (tied)
  • No. 114 for “Undergraduate Business Programs” (tied)
  • No. 128 for “Top Performers on Social Mobility – Regional Universities North” (tied)
  • No. 131 for “Undergraduate Psychology Programs” (tied)
  • No. 214 for “Undergraduate Computer Science Programs” (tied)

To calculate the rankings, U.S. News & World Report analyzed nearly 1,500 national colleges and universities on up to 17 measures of academic quality, with an emphasis on graduate outcomes and social mobility.
