Loyola’s graduate psychology program ranked among the nation’s best

U.S. News & World Report named Loyola University Maryland among the 2025 Best Graduate Schools, ranking the University’s graduate psychology program one of the top in the nation.

Loyola was ranked No. 71 (tied) out of 303 Social Sciences and Humanities Doctoral Programs in Psychology, rising 51 spots from last year. Loyola’s doctoral program in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) was also ranked No. 91 (tied) among 251 Clinical Psychology Programs.

Comparing all programs that offer a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, Loyola's program is now:

  • Tied for No. 4 among all Psy.D. programs that offer only the Psy.D. degree
  • Tied for No. 6 among all programs that offer the Psy.D. and offer the Psy.D. and Ph.D.

U.S. News & World Report’s rankings reflect peer assessments of academic quality as well as location, environment, cost after tuition and financial aid, and job placement.

Loyola offers an undergraduate bachelor of arts degree, master’s in clinical professional counseling, and doctoral degree in clinical psychology. The programs in psychology endorse the educational mission of Loyola, to challenge students to learn, lead, and serve in a diverse and changing world.
