Cap & Gown

Academic regalia are the traditional dress for degree candidates and faculty participating in a Commencement Ceremony. To participate in the ceremony, you will need University-approved regalia.

How to Purchase & Order Deadlines

Visit the Herff Jones website and enter your Loyola email address.

Only degree candidates who have been approved for participation by the Office of the Registrar (and told us when they applied to graduate that they would be attending the ceremony) are permitted to purchase regalia. Anyone who has not applied or has now decided to attend the ceremony, please email Academic Events.

For best prices, order by March 22, 2025. The deadline for ordering regalia is April 20, 2025. No late orders will be accepted. 

Ordering options:

1.      Campus Pickup – Deadline to purchase is March 22, 2025

Purchase your cap and gown online and pick it up from the Loyola Bookstore on the following dates:

• Thursday, April 24, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
• Friday, April 25, 11 a.m. – 3.p.m.

Please make every effort to pick up your cap & gown during this time. If you can’t attend during this time, you can pick it up during regular bookstore hours but wait times may be longer. 

2.      Direct Shipping – Deadline to purchase is April 20, 2025

Purchase your cap and gown online and ship to your desired address (shipping charges apply.)

When ordering your cap & gown there are packages and additional add ons and keepsakes that are available. Only the “Graduation Regalia” under the Cap & Gown tab is required for participation in the Commencement ceremony. *Please note this cost does not include Maryland State Sales Tax of 6% or shipping charges if you choose direct ship. 

For students who may need financial assistance, please refer to the Student Success Emergency Fund for more information and to apply. It is recommended to apply for assistance as early as possible to ensure regalia can be ordered on time.
