Professor of Marketing Named Distinguished Teacher of the Year
The Sellinger School congratulates Jason Q. Zhang, professor of marketing, for being
named the 2021 Harry W. Rodgers III Distinguished Teacher of the Year. This award was founded in 1971 to give public recognition to full-time faculty members
whose teaching activities demonstrate a high degree of professional excellence and
was established through the generosity of Harry W. Rodgers III, '50 and is supported
by the Harry W. Rodgers III Distinguished Teacher Award Fund.
Undergraduate students nominate teachers for the award. Once selected as the Distinguished
Teacher of the Year, the faculty member is inducted into the Alpha Sigma Nu Society
in April.
About Jason
Jason Q. Zhang, professor of marketing at Loyola, holds a doctoral degree in marketing, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in statistics and finance. His research focuses on marketing strategies in various business contexts, including customer experience, social media, branding, ROI of marketing, and corporate social responsibility. His work has appeared in premier academic journals and received recognition from leading research institutions, such as the Marketing Science Institute and the Wharton School’s Interactive Media Center. Presently, Jason teaches marketing management, customer management, and strategy courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels. His teaching and executive training have won him numerous awards, including the Executive MBA Teacher of the Year (three times) and the University’s and Dean’s Teaching Excellence Awards. His graduate classes also enjoyed appearing in the popular press including the Baltimore Sun.
