Biography
Loretta is a former attorney turned educator. She has been in the education realm
for about 2 decades. She started as a developmental reading teacher for K-5th graders
in two rural schools in Pennsylvania before moving to Maryland and teaching in Baltimore
City Schools. Her experience in formal education is primarily in the elementary and
tertiary levels. However, she has worked with middle and high schoolers in various
other settings. Additionally, Loretta is a certified reading specialist. At Loyola,
she advises and teaches primarily graduate level students and courses in the reading
specialist program.
Outside of Loyola, Loretta is also a dog trainer. She is a serious foodie and loves
to travel.
