Loyola MAT Student receives distinguished Fulbright Award
Loyola senior Lily Tiger, ’24, was recently awarded a prestigious Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship to teach English in Greece next year. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program facilitates cultural exchange provided in more than 135 countries around the world through opportunities to engage in research in a foreign country or teach English for students of various age groups.
The teaching assistantship aligns with Tiger’s career goal of becoming an English teacher and enables her to return to the country where she studied abroad as a Greyhound.
“I applied for the Fulbright opportunity because it felt right. I'm most excited to be back in a country that I love and start a career doing something that I love,” said Tiger, an English major and business minor originally from Annapolis, Maryland.
Upon returning from Greece, Tiger anticipates earning her Master of Arts in Teaching at Loyola.
