Kodály Alumni Are On Fire
The Loyola University Maryland world-renowned American Kodály Institute (AKI) Music Education Program is following the Jesuit tradition to Go Forth and Set the World on Fire! Here are some recent highlights from our Kodály alumni and faculty.
- Elisabeth Crabtree, alumni, published The Keys of Orff Rediscovered, Orff-Schulwerk book from Schott publishing.
- Chris Fox published another choral piece, The Gallery, this February through Afred publishing.
- AKI grad Judy DuBose is the founder of Frederick Children’s Chorus in Maryland.
- AKI grad Lauren Walker is the artistic director of All Childrens’ Chorus of Annapolis.
- AKI grad Tasha Maglocci is an assistant director at the Peabody Children’s Chorus.
- AKI grads Rachel Tanenblatt and Angela Pope and AKI Program Director Lauren McDougle teach musicianship at Children’s Chorus of Maryland and School of Music.
- AKI instructor Felix Polendey is an associate conductor for the National Children’s Chorus of the United States of America.
- AKI grad François Suhr is the associate director and conductor for the Princeton Girl Choir.
- AKI grad Carla Wardell is the 2022-2023 treble choir conductor for Strathmore Children’s Chorus.
