Loyola President Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D., named to The Daily Record’s Power 100 List
Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D., president of Loyola University Maryland, was named to The Daily Record’s 2024-25 Power 100 List.
The Power 100 List recognizes “the 100 men and women who are shaping our businesses, governments, nonprofits, law firms and other key institutions,” and “who play an outsized role in the culture, lifestyle, civic conversations and economic fortunes of Maryland,” according to The Daily Record.
This marks the third consecutive year that Sawyer has landed on The Daily Record’s Power 100 list after being recognized for 2023-24 and 2022-23. The list is a culmination of the publication’s Power Lists published throughout 2024 that showcased the most powerful figures in law, higher education, health care, finance, and other fields.
“This recognition is truly a reflection of the important work we are undertaking at Loyola, where we prepare students to be leaders of competence, conscience, and compassion who go forth to serve a diverse and changing world,” said Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D., president of Loyola. “I am honored to be named with leaders in education, government, business, health care, and other industries. Together, we are driving innovation and progress, and Loyola is proud to be a leader in advancing our region’s future.”
This January, Sawyer begins his fourth year as the 25th president of Loyola. He was selected after 23 years serving the University in several roles as an administrator and affiliate faculty member. He is currently guiding the University in the implementation of its strategic plan, Together We Rise: Loyola University Maryland’s Strategic Plan for 2030, which strives to make Loyola a preeminent university for student success.
