Loyola University Maryland named to The Princeton Review’s list of best colleges

Loyola University Maryland has been named a national “Best” college for undergraduate academics and regionally as a “Best Northeastern College” by The Princeton Review in The Best 387 Colleges: 2022 Edition. Loyola has been included on the list in 29 consecutive editions since the 1994 edition, which was published in August 1993.

Loyola was also recognized in two of The Princeton Review’s “Great Lists” categories for Great Athletic Facilities and Great College Dorms. The “Great Lists” were created to celebrate The Princeton Review’s 30th anniversary and recognize colleges that have had “a distinctive history of appearances over the years.”

Thomas, Ph.D., interim president of Loyola University Maryland. “We are pleased to be recognized for the quality of our Jesuit liberal arts education—as well as the outstanding residential experience and athletic facilities we offer to our students.”

Only an estimated 14% of America’s four-year colleges are included in this guide. Unlike many college rankings, The Princeton Review’s list is not ranked hierarchically. Colleges are selected based on data collected from the college’s administrators on academic offerings and through surveys of students who attend the college and rate their experiences.
