Loyola celebrates the success of the Bright Minds, Bold Hearts comprehensive campaign
June 1, 2011 Silent phase of the campaign begins.
June 2011 $1 million gift creates Alexander M. Haig, Jr., Endowment Fund for Science, Faith, and Culture.
July 2011 Ellen and Ed Hanway, ’74, give $5.2 million, the largest gift in Loyola’s history, to fund a number of key University initiatives, including the Global Studies program, York Road Initiative, and Messina, as well as a new scholarship.
September 2012 Kathy and Ken Boehl, ’76, MBA ’81, give $1 million to the Boehl Family Scholarship Fund.
September 2012 Hollis and Jim Forbes, ’80, give $1 million for Reitz Arena renovations.
April 2013 Gerard Holthaus, ’71, makes a $1 million gift toward scholarships.
April 2013 Ilona and Dan McGuiness make a $1 million gift toward scholarships.
June 2013 Patricia and John Cochran, ’73, give $5 million toward scholarships and the Rev. Brian F. Linnane, S.J., Alumni House.
September 2013 Mary Catherine Bunting, Mount Saint Agnes College ’64, gives $1.75 million to establish the Bunting Program in Peace and Justice Studies.
December 7, 2013 Bright Minds, Bold Hearts is announced as the campaign reaches $43 million.
December 2013 Gordon Erberts, ’49, gives $1.5 million for mission and ministry.
December 2013 Kathy and David Ferguson, ’77, pledge $1.5 million in scholarship funding.
September 2014 An anonymous $3.2 million gift creates McClure Tennis Center.
October 2015 A $2.5 million planned gift from Joanna Armiger Edwards, MBA ’00, and Stuart W. Edwards creates a scholarship fund.
April 2016 Loyola receives a $1 million gift from Paula and Thomas Scheye, Ph.D., for a new endowed chair in English.
May 2016 A $2 million planned gift from Mary Hyman and The Sigmund M. Hyman Foundation creates scholarships.
October 2016 A $1 million gift from Carl Julio establishes new scholarship fund.
April 2017 An anonymous donor makes a planned gift of $3.4 million.
October 2017 An anonymous $2 million gift is the first for the Center for Innovation and Collaborative Learning—the future renovation and expansion of Beatty Hall.
February 2018 Nick, MBA ’84, and Susie Simon, M.Ed. ’81, give $1 million and the Frank family gives $461,000 to start the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
May 2018 Deborah and Patrick Allender, ’68, make a $1 million gift to establish the Allender Accounting Chair in the Sellinger School of Business and Management.
May 2018 The Maguire Foundation makes a $1.25 million challenge gift to endow the Maguire Scholars Program.
May 2018 Dan, ’99, and Kelly Rizzo, ’98, give $2 million to name the new home for the Career Center within the Center for Innovation and Collaborative Learning.
May 8, 2018 Bright Minds, Bold Hearts campaign closes at $100 million.
