Collegium Grant Retreat
May 22, 2023 - Evergreen Campus
“Jesuit, Catholic Education in an AI World”
Join Fr. Tim Brown, S.J. and Lynne Elkes (Economics) for a day-long retreat on the Evergreen Campus on Monday, May 22, 2023, as we explore the intellectual tradition that underpins Loyola University Maryland’s mission and its application in a world more and more dominated by artificial intelligence. Supported by a Collegium Catalyst grant, this program intends to support the ability of Loyola’s employees of all faith backgrounds, maintain and enhance the educational environment students expect to receive at a Catholic institution.
Using art, music, and literature, Fr. Brown will lead participants in an interactive discussion connecting the history and values associated with the Jesuit, Catholic tradition with the work we do every day at Loyola Maryland.
This retreat is open to faculty, staff, and administrators and a stipend of $600 will be provided to participants along with breakfast and lunch.
The retreat will run from 9 am – 4 pm in the Sellinger VIP Lounge. This brief application form is due no later than March 20th. Participants will be informed of their selection by April 20th.
Please contact Lynne Elkes at lelkes@loyola.edu with any questions, or for additional information.
