On-Campus Employment
Loyola University Maryland students can find on-campus jobs using the Handshake platform. There are two types of job classifications for students - work study and direct hire. Some students qualify for the federal work study program. This information is provided in your yearly financial aid package. Students without the work study designation can apply for direct hire positions only.

Work Study
If you qualify for work study, you must accept it through your financial aid page on the Inside Loyola, Self-Service portal. Once you accept your work study status, you will be able to view both work study positions and direct hire positions on Handshake. Please keep in mind that our systems are updated once every 24 hours Monday through Friday. This means that if you accept your work study status on Monday afternoon, it will not be reflected on your Handshake account until the next day or if you accept your designation on a Friday afternoon, it will not be reflected in Handshake until Monday.
If you still have questions regarding your work-study status or other questions regarding financial aid, please contact Diane Roche: droche@loyola.edu.
Direct Hire
Direct Hire positions are on-campus jobs that do not require work-study approval, and you can view them on Handshake through the jobs page using the on-campus filter. For a quick walk through on finding resume templates, logging into Handshake, and finding on campus jobs, please reference the work study video above and skip to the 2:08 minute mark and watch to the 4:45 minute mark. Since you do not have the work study designation you will only be able to see jobs relevant to you.
Handshake Expected Timelines
On-campus positions can be posted at any time on Handshake. However, many of these postings tend to be uploaded a couple weeks before the semester starts. So please keep that in mind as you conduct your search.
