Light A Candle

Candles"Prayer for others… is the very beat of a compassionate heart. To pray for a friend who is ill, for a student who is depressed, for a teacher who is in conflict; for people in prisons, in hospitals, on battlefields; for those who are victims of injustice, who are hungry, poor, without shelter; for those who risk their career, their health, and even their life in struggle for social justice; for leaders of church and state, to pray for all these people is not a futile effort to influence God’s will, but a hospitable gesture by which we invite our neighbors into the center of our hearts. When we come before God with the needs of the world, the healing love of the Holy Spirit that touches us, touches with the same power all those whom we bring before him." - Henri Nouwen

The Lost Souls

I want to pray for the homeless who have no warn bed to sleep in tonight during this chilly season. Who don't have the option of turning on the heater and eating a warm fulfilling meal. I pray that they see tomorrow's sunrise and don't give up on life. And keep God on their mind and positivity in their consciences.

Family of Maureen Gillen '85

Please pray that Maureen's family find joy in Baltimore and Loyola. Maureen passed away in July 1989 of cancer after bravely laughing in it's face for 2 and a half months. She served as an officer in The 82nd Airborne and was loved immediately by all who met her. She was my angel and best friend during my last challenging years at Annapolis. Her Faith is still changing the lives of those she touched.
