Based on the work of Rev. Peter Hans Kolvenbach, S.J., Superior General of the Society of Jesus, Loyola supports two programs designed to foster socially-engaged research: the Kolvenbach Fellows Program and the Kolvenbach Summer Research Grant Program. These programs encourage research that strengthens the work of non-profit organizations and agencies working in Baltimore. The program seeks to assist these community-based organizations by conducting research that they do not have the resources to obtain otherwise and supports faculty who wish to pursue socially-engaged research.
This program invites proposals from faculty, students, staff, and administrators to conduct summer research projects that address the needs of a community agency or organization located in the city of Baltimore. There are two separate applications: one for undergraduate students and one for all other eligible applicants. All grantees receive a stipend of $3,500.
