We Can Assist Your Son or Daughter with Career Planning!

Welcome! It is the mission of The Career Center at Loyola University Maryland to help students and alumni discover their career passion by integrating the Jesuit core values and introducing a process of personal discovery and discernment. We offer a wide range of services to prepare students to enter the workforce. Our services include individual advising sessions, vocational interest testing, resume critiques, on-campus recruiting, and much more.

For parents and students, the career search process can be filled with excitement as well as anxiety. The key to a successful job search is thorough preparation and an early start. Please encourage your son or daughter to take advantage of all the Career Center has to offer. Listed below are a number of our services to assist your student in the career planning process.

Individual Career Advising Sessions
Students can make appointments to discuss:

  • career options, job strategies, resume writing, choice of major, or graduate school opportunities
  • any topic of career-related concern is open for discussion with The Career Center

Four Year Career Action Plan
It's never too early to visit The Career Center:

  • from choosing a major in the freshman and sophomore years to On-Campus Interviewing in the junior and senior years, we are here to assist your sons and daughters

Job Readiness Workshops
These are just a few of the highlights from our various workshops offered throughout the fall and spring semesters:

  • learn how to write a winning resume and cover letter, interview for success, or conduct a successful job search

Graduate School
The Career Center has numerous resources to aid in applying to graduate school such as:

  • graduate school planning workshops, resource materials and a graduate school information fair

Career Resource Library
The Career Resource Library contains:

  • numerous reference materials and information on occupations, employers, and graduate school
  • job listings, and information related to career decision making and job seeking

Hounds4Hire and The On-Campus Recruitment Program
The Career Center utilizes Hounds4Hire to:

  • coordinate resume development, on-campus interviews and the job posting/referral system

Alumni Career Network
This network (accessible through Hounds4Hire) provides your sons and daughters with the opportunity to:

  • network with successful Loyola College alumni
  • gather career information from a professional in their field of interest, including general career advice, full-time job or internship leads, and contacts with hiring personnel

Vocational Interest Testing
Career Advisors administer and interpret vocational interest tests:

  • students may gain valuable information that can help clarify possible choices of major and career

Special Programs
Throughout the year, The Career Center sponsors a number of programs such as:

  • the Spring Career Fair, Interest Testing Days, Open Houses, Walk-in Career Advising, and more
