Dr. Libby Kumin

Dr. Libby Kumin was awarded a Ph.D. in speech-language pathology from New York University in 1969.  Since that time, she has been active in teaching, research, advising, and college, professional, and community service. She has published four books, eight chapters, and numerous research articles in the area of communication skills in infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and adults with Down syndrome. She founded the Down Syndrome Speech and Language Center for Excellence at Loyola College Columbia Center. Dr. Kumin is listed in Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who of American Women, and Foremost Women of the Twentieth Century.
