"After Five" club gets a taste of the rich history of the Baltimore Coffee & Tea Company

On March 5th,  approximately 20 Executive and MBA Fellows alumni visited the Baltimore Coffee & Tea company in Timonium as part of the "After Five"club.

While enjoying a cup of gourmet coffee, the group learned about the company's rich history and plans for future growth.

A family business dating back to 1895, the Baltimore Coffee and Tea company supplies restaurants, gourmet stores, and coffee houses in North America and Europe in addition to several retail outlets.  While Starbucks has reported a 10 percent drop in same-store sales, is closing nearly 1,000 shops and cutting at least 7,000 jobs, Baltimore Coffee and Tea is expanding locations and broadening their reach within a very competitive space.

The group learned about the company's recipe for success, and gained a first hand account of how small businesses can compete against the giants in their industries.

After Five is a complimentary continuing education program sponsored by the Executive Alumni Association and The Sellinger School,  and is offered to Loyola's Executive MBA and MBA Fellows program alumni. Each After Five event offers the opportunity for alumni to visit successful entrepreneurial Baltimore-area businesses, tour their facilities and meet with senior executives in a relaxed, informal setting.
