New Emerging Leaders MBA Students Receive iPads

The Emerging Leaders MBA program, now in its second year, has equipped this year’s class of 20 with the iPad2 pre-loaded with course materials for the program.
“We’re encouraging our faculty to incorporate new technology into their teaching methods and students to utilize technology in creative ways,” said Karyl B. Leggio, Ph.D., dean of the Sellinger School. “Technology affects the way we do business and our students—both undergraduate and graduate—have grown up rapidly adapting new technology. I imagine students will FaceTime—the face-to-face video call application on the iPad2—with one another for group projects and take pictures and video of their corporate site visits and field studies, among other uses.”
Program administrators hope that, in addition to encouraging the integration of emerging and mobile technology throughout the students’ internships, presentations, and research, the paperless approach will contribute to overall cost savings and a greater sustainability than printing out case studies or buying all texts.
