Loyola announces new scholarship at Business Leader of the Year award dinner
November 16, 2011
Loyola University Maryland's Sellinger School of Business and Management announced a new scholarship at its 2011 Business Leader of the Year award dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, honoring Randall M. Griffin, chief executive officer of Corporate Office Properties Trust (COPT).
The proceeds from the event and a donation made in COPT's name will be contributed to a fund for the scholarship, which will be named the COPT Business Leader of the Year scholarship and will be awarded to an undergraduate student in the 2012-13 academic year.
"Members of our advisory boards and corporate partners like COPT have taken a keen interest in making this event not just a networking opportunity for alumni and partners in our business community, but also a chance to create something positive for current and prospective Loyola students," said Karyl B. Leggio, Ph.D., dean of the Sellinger School. "We believe offering a scholarship designed to support students with financial need aligns perfectly with Loyola's mission and the ideals the Business Leader of the Year award was established to honor."
The University hopes to raise sufficient funds to endow the scholarship so it may be awarded in subsequent years as well. To make a gift in support of the the scholarship fund, please visit www.loyola.edu/give and choose the COPT Scholarship option.
