David C. Newton serves the Pastoral Counseling department at Loyola College in Maryland as the Director of Academic Operations. Mr. Newton received a Master of Theological Studies from The Divinity School at Duke University and has developed academic interests in twentieth century American Christianity. His theological thought is grounded within Pentecostal and contextual theologies and focuses on developing Pentecostal spirituality as a framework for creating a more responsible Pentecostal social ethic. After a five year career in the corporate world, he joined the department in 2005 as the primary academic administrator, budget officer, and coordinator of departmental web based initiatives.  An administrator at heart, he is presently pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education and Leadership through the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is credentialed with the Assemblies of God.
