Student Involvement Student Health Advisory Committee (SHAC) SHAC is a campus organization led by students to promote increased student/consumer participation on university health issues at Loyola. The goals of SHAC are to ensure optimal care for students, review student feedback to the Student Health Service administration and to discuss day-to-day operations at the Student Health Center. In addition, SHAC also works in conjunction with the Student Health Center to disseminate health information to the student body. Any student interested in becoming a member of SHAC may obtain an application from the SHAC office in the Health Center, or, fill out an online application. Student Health awareness Resource Program (SHARP) The Student Health Awareness Resource Program is a group of peer educators who are concerned with the wellness of students. SHARP attempts to increase awareness of issues that affect college students and to encourage students to take responsibility for their health. The group has a specific focus on sexual health and awareness. Tobacco Intervention Club (TIC) The Tobacco Intervention Club (TIC) provides peer education about risks associated with smoking, secondhand smoke, and the benefits of smoking cessation. TIC sponsors a variety of student activities, conducts surveys, and sponsors a campus speakers' series. Club members promote the Great American Smoke Out, Kick Butts Day and New Year's Resolution drives to help students quit smoking. TIC lobbies college administrators to promote substance-free student housing and smoke-free zones on Loyola's campus. In addition to their health education efforts, TIC members host and co-sponsor social events for the Loyola community.
