Summer 2007

Brittany Ellwanger, 08, completed her internship in the law offices of Hodes, Pessin and Katz of Towson, Maryland. Her exciting professional experiences included clerical and administrative tasks, as well as taking part in depositions and a trial. She characterizes her internship as "immensely rewarding and valuable to me. Not only has it helped me gain knowledge of law but also it has helped me learn about myself and my desires for the future." She also found time to be in the chorus for a local production of <I.H.M.S. Pinafore i>.

Spring 2006

Two Loyola seniors test their teaching skills

Two members of the class of 2006 are preparing for their careers by teaching as interns in local Catholic schools.  Colleen Gisriel works at Mercy High School in Towson, where she is mentored by the department chair, Ms. Clare Hruban.  Alison Wright is learning her craft at Loyola High school, also in Towson, under the guidance of Ed Jones, who received his Master of Modern Studies degree from Loyola.  Alison works with an all-male student body, some of whom are junior high students, but most of whom are college-bound high school students.  Colleen works with an exclusively female population, all of who are in high school.

Loyola senior learns about administration

Lauren Franson is working in the office of Student Development, where she is mentored by the Assistant Vice president for Student Development.  Lauren is learning about academic administration at many levels.  And she was recently notified of her acceptance for graduate study at the University of Massachusetts, in academic administration..

Fall 2005

Colleen Hayden, 2006, completed a very successful internship in PR with the firm of Weinberg, Harris and Associates.

Spring 2005

Devon Wallace, 2005, interned with Baltimore Magazine, in the Public Relations department, developing skills that will enable her to work in print media.

Elizabeth Maher, 2005, interned with ABC Nightline in Washington. DC..  She was involved in stories on the Social Security Crisis, the American presence in Iraq, and a follow-up story on the documentary Hoop Dreams.
