DirectionA whole week of activities designed just for sophomores! Held each fall, Sophomore Week provides an introduction to the challenges and opportunities for students during the sophomore year at Loyola, as well as a taste of all the office of student engagement has to offer sophomores. Specific schedules vary each year, but events usually include an open house, a sophomore workshop series session, a Mystery Bus outing, and more.

Find out what the office of student engagement has to offer the sophomore class! Stop by our office to meet the staff and learn more about our exciting programs.

Exploring Your Sophomore Year

While sophomore year brings new questions, it also offers many exciting opportunities for reflection, direction, and connection! Come learn about the variety of programs and events available just for sophomores from the office of student engagement. Stop by this information session to hear about programs such as RoadTrip, Discovery, Mystery Bus, Sophomore Supper and more!

The Career Center Open House

Looking for an internship? Wondering how your major can help you find a great job? Stop by the open house to meet The Career Center staff members and learn more about their program offerings and services, including career advice, résumé critique, and self-assessments. www.loyola.edu/thecareercenter

Sophomore Workshop Series Kick-Off: To Study At Loyola or Abroad?

Thursday, Sept. 20

The Sophomore Workshop Series will help you identify campus resources for exploring sophomore-year decisions and other important questions, and in understanding some of the factors to consider in the process. The first workshop includes student perspectives on the decision to study abroad or stay at Loyola junior year. Join us for the series kick-off celebration and stay for the great information!

Mystery Bus

Friday, Sept. 21

Need an exciting change to your busy schedule? Or just want to get off campus for the evening?  Mystery Bus offers sophomores an opportunity to experience an undisclosed adventure and enjoy a little taste of Baltimore. For a clue to this month’s location, visit: www.loyola.edu/mysterybus

  • Who:  40 sophomores

Sophomore Spirit Event at Soccer Game

Saturday, Sept. 22

Join fellow sophomores and the Loyola community for an afternoon full of sport and spirit as you cheer on Loyola’s men’s soccer team play James Madison at the Ridley Athletic Complex. Watch for the Facebook event invitation for details on the food, fun, and fan gear. Unleash the Hounds!

OAE Sophomore Adventures: Sea Kayaking

Sunday, Sept. 23

Get away from campus and enjoy a little fun in the sun sea kayaking with your classmates. No prior experience is necessary. This event is sponsored by the department of recreational sports’ Outdoor Adventure Experience (OAE). Sign up early; this adventure will fill up fast!

  • Where:  Waterways of the Mid-Atlantic
  • Who:  8 sophomores
  • Cost:   $15
