Assistant Director of Recreational Sports
(Fitness and Instructional Programs)
Kyle Anderson joined the recreational sports team in May 2010 as the assistant director of recreational sports, fitness and instructional programs. Kyle supervises and coordinates all fitness areas, personal training program, group fitness and instructional programs.
Kyle graduated from the University of Missouri in 2009 with dual-degrees: a Bachelors of Journalism and a Bachelors of English. While working for five years for the Mizzou Recreation Complex as the asst. manager of strength and conditioning, lead personal trainer, group fitness instructor and facility supervisor, Kyle interned with UCLA coordinating their Instructional Fitness Programs. Upon return, Kyle shifted academic focus and attained a Masters of Science in Sport Management from Georgia Southern University (2010), while working as the graduate assistant for fitness at the GSU Recreational Activity Center. Having completed all on-campus course work in one year, Kyle did a graduate internship with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s department of recreational services. Simultaneously, Kyle worked as a commercial training for LifeStyle Family Fitness providing direct assistance and lifestyle coaching to a wide variety of individuals. Kyle is a member of NIRSA, an ACE personal trainer, group fitness instructor, lifestyle and weight management coach, Les Mills Body Pump instructor, and American Red Cross CPR/AED, First Aid instructor.
Originally from Lincoln, Neb., Kyle is a worldly traveler having lived in six different states, hitchhiked through New Zealand and visited seven different countries in the last six years. Kyle is an avid writer, who almost always has a journal with him. For those friends who know him the best would say that Kyle is an energetic person with a sincere passion for fitness and very bad jokes.
