Inspired by an October 2000 address by Rev. Peter Hans Kolvenbach, S.J., Loyola University Maryland offers the Kolvenbach Summer Research Grant Program to foster and encourage research that strengthens the work of non-profit organizations and agencies working in Baltimore. The program seeks to assist these community-based organizations by conducting research that they do not have the resources to obtain otherwise. Additionally, Loyola offer the Kolvenbach Fellows program which supports faculty who wish to pursue socially-engaged research.
Applications are due by 5 p.m annually on the first Friday of the spring semester.
This program invites proposals from faculty, students, staff, and administrators to conduct summer research projects that address the needs of a community agency or organization located in the city of Baltimore. There are two separate applications: one for undergraduate students and one for all other eligible applicants. All grantees receive a stipend of $3,500.
