2013-14 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. You and your parent must have a Federal Personal Identification Number (PIN) to electronically sign the FAFSA. You many obtain a PIN while completing the FAFSA, or at the Federal PIN website, www.pin.ed.gov. Loyola University's FAFSA Code Number is 002078.
We recommend that you and your parent(s) complete your 2012 Federal Tax Return before completing the FAFSA. If you have not yet completed your return, you can use estimated tax information to submit your FAFSA now, and then correct that information after you and your parent(s) file your tax returns.
The easiest way to complete or correct your FAFSA with accurate tax information is by opting to use the online IRS Data Retrieval Tool. This process allows applicants and parents to retrieve tax data from the IRS tax return and transfer it directly into your FAFSA. If you are unable to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on your initial FAFSA application, we strongly encourage its use to update this information after taxes are submitted. If families are not eligible or ultimately choose not to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to update the tax information, the U.S. Department of Education may require us to collect additional documentation, including a certified tax transcript from the IRS.
