Meal Plan Modifications Because of Disability

Loyola University Maryland is committed to the full participation of students with disabilities in all aspects of university life, including on-campus dining. Students with food allergies or disabilities who require special diets should consult the information on the Allergies and Special Diets section of the dining services website, fill out the self-identification form, and schedule an appointment with the dining services staff to discuss their needs. Meeting with the dining services staff will ensure that you are aware of the various options for you on campus, and how dining services might be able to meet your individual needs.

After a student meets with the dining services staff, if they feel they require a modification of the meal plan required for their class year, they should register with Disability Services (DSS). Students should submit documentation to DSS that explains how their disability impacts their ability to dine on campus and provides accommodation recommendations related to the meal plan.

Please contact the DSS staff at das@loyola.edu if you have any questions about the process for requesting a meal plan modification. While students may request an accommodation at any time, meal plan accommodations are not approved retroactively, so we encourage students to submit their requests as early as possible.
