Instructions for Using the DAS Database

Use the links below to navigate through this webpage. Visual tutorials are available for some actions here.

To Request Accommodations for Each Semester

Faculty accommodation letters should be requested at the beginning of the semester (ideally after you have attended one class and read the course syllabus). After attending the first class and reading the syllabus, please request accommodation letters online.

  1. Go to the right of the DAS homepage and click on the link "Accommodations Information."
  2. Click on “Request Accommodations (for students).”
  3. You will be directed to a login page. Use your Loyola credentials to request accommodations.
  4. Under the heading “My Accommodations,” select “List Accommodations” to view your current class schedule.
  5. Select the classes for which you would like to request accommodations.
  6. Click on the Step 2, “Continue to Customize Your Accommodations.”
  7. Select the accommodations such as “Alternative Testing” and check to have your letters emailed to your professors.
  8. Once you have completed your requests, you may submit by clicking on the "Submit Request" button at the bottom of the page. DAS will approve and email accommodation letters to you and your professor.

How to Submit a Test/Exam Request

  1. Go to the right of the DAS homepage and click on the link "Accommodations Information."
  2. Click on “Request Accommodations (for students).”
  3. Select “Alternative Testing” on the left side of the screen.
  4. Use the pull down menu to select the class for which you would like to submit a request.
  5. Enter the date, time, and accommodations you are requesting.
  6. Make sure you submit your request.
  7. Remember that your request will not go through if you have not provided DAS a prior notice of 5 business days for your exam request. Please contact DAS as soon as possible if you are unable to submit your request.

Find Your Notes Through the DAS Database

  1. Log in to your DAS account.
  2. Under “My Accommodations,” select “ Note-taking Services.”
  3. If you have an assigned note-taker, you will see his or her name and contact information.
  4. Underneath the class description. you should see a button that says “Available Notes for Download." Click on the button and select the date for which you want to download notes.

Alternative Textbooks

If you would like alternative formats for texts, you may request and access them through the DAS Database.

  1. Log in to your account and select "Alternative Formats" under the "My Accommodations" heading on the left side of the screen.
  2. Select the book you would like an alternative format for under "Alternative Formats."
  3. “Alternative Formats Preference” will appear above your book selection. Select the format you are requesting.
  4. If you do not see the book or format, you will need to contact DAS as soon as possible.

Latest News - "Excel" Support Group

Excel is a virtual support group for students who have a disability or face learning challenges. Excel provides a space for students to discuss their unique challenges related to virtual learning and find support to navigate learning hurdles. Students will also be able to share resources, learn stress management skills, and discuss self-care.  Students do not need to be registered with Disability Support Services to join this group. Learn more about Excel and other support groups with the Counseling Center.
