What Is It?
The Adam Smith Society has decided to start a farmers’ market on York Road as a commitment to the community surrounding Loyola. The farmers’ market will provide an opportunity for participants to complete the Service Learning Requirement of the Sellinger School of Business & Management.
What Needs to Be Done?
- Identify & analyze other successful farmers’ markets in similar demographics. What products are offered and at what price? How much do we charge vendors?
- Survey local community leaders as to what the community needs and if they are willing to participate?
- Based on the information provided, we need to look for a location and come up with a value proposition.
- Reserve a location and decide when the Farmers’ market will operate
- Draft by-laws, fees, & policies
- Solicit Vendors & advertise the farmers’ market
