Welcome to the Loyola College Department of Chemistry. Thank you for visiting our web page, and we hope we can share with you the exciting work that is happening in our department. This page will introduce you to the program at Loyola, as well as lead you to additional information regarding our faculty, research, and professional opportunities for our graduating students.

Our Program is certified by the American Chemical Society and is designed to give our students the diverse background they will need to be successful chemists. Students receive a solid background in chemistry and theory and extensive laboratory experience. Our low student-to-teacher ratio and small class sizes allow the students to work one-on-one with the faculty and perform experiments with advanced instrumentation.

The Chemistry Department encourages majors to perform independent research under the supervision of a Loyola faculty member. In addition, the Hauber Program is a paid summer research opportunity offered by Loyola for gifted students in the Sciences.

We encourage you to browse through additional information regarding classes, faculty members, research opportunities, and much more by following the menu bar below. In addition, feel free to e-mail any further questions you may have to bbarr@loyola.edu or view our brochure.
