Application Procedures for Continuing Students
2009-2010 Academic Year

Students currently receiving assistance (or who wish to apply for assistance) under the Federal Student Aid Programs (Pell Grant, Supplemental Grant, Perkins Loan, Direct Stafford Loan, Parent Loan, Work-Study), the Maryland Educational Assistance Grant and Guaranteed Access Grant Programs, or the Loyola Grant and Claver Grant Programs must follow the application procedures listed below, since these awards are based on financial need which must be demonstrated each year.

2009-10 PROFILE Application
Renewal and New Applicants: Register online for the 2009-10 PROFILE Application and then file the 2009-10 PROFILE Application online. The College Board Online web site address is www.collegeboard.com. Loyola College's CSS Code Number is 5370Click here to access the CSS PROFILE Student Guide.

2009-10 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Renewal Applicants: Complete the FAFSA online using your Federal Personal Identification Number (PIN). The FAFSA web site address is www.fafsa.ed.gov. Loyola College's FAFSA Code Number is 002078. If you have lost your PIN, or need to request a new PIN, you may do so by accessing the Federal PIN website (www.pin.ed.gov).

New Applicants: (Students who did not apply for financial aid for the 2008-09 academic year): Obtain a Federal Personal Identification Number (PIN) using the Federal PIN Web website, www.pin.ed.gov. Parents should also obtain a Federal PIN. Once created, the Federal PIN allows access to the applicant's data in several Federal Student Aid systems and also serves as that person's electronic signature. After receiving your Federal PIN, file the 2009-10 FAFSA online. The FAFSA website address is www.fafsa.ed.gov. Loyola College's FAFSA Code Number is 002078

Maryland Residents: apply for Maryland State Grant assistance by completing the 2009-10 FAFSA by March 1, 2009.
 
Parents' and Student's 2008 Federal Tax Returns: The following link contains the procedures for submitting your 2008 Federal Tax Return information to the College Board's Institutional

Students receiving financial aid which consists entirely of four-year renewable scholarships (Presidential Scholarships, Claver Scholarships, Athletic Grants) are not required to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or the PROFILE Application. These awards will be automatically renewed if the scholarship retention requirements have been met as outlined in your original scholarship award notification letter.

FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION DEADLINES

PROFILE Application: Complete the PROFILE online (www.collegeboard.com) no later than March 15, 2009.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): Complete the FAFSA online (www.fafsa.ed.gov) no later than March 15, 2009. (Maryland residents should file the FAFSA by March 1, 2009.)

Parents' and Student's 2008 Federal Tax Returns: Submit your tax return information to the College Board according to the process outlined above. The deadline for submitting your tax return information to the College Board is April 15, 2009.

It is extremely important that you and your parents adhere to the financial aid application filing deadlines listed above.  The funds available through the federal campus-based student aid programs and Loyola's institutionally-funded need-based grant programs are limited.  Therefore, if you do not meet the filing deadlines, you risk being placed on a financial aid waiting list.  

FINANCIAL AID ELIGIBILITY NOTIFICATION

Financial aid awards for enrolled students will be available for viewing via "WebAdvisor for Students" during early June 2009, after the verification process has been completed and cumulative grade point averages for the 2008-09 academic year are available.
