For incoming freshman: Strategies for Success Workshop provides opportunity to move in early and learn about resources

This one-day pre-orientation workshop is offered for incoming freshmen with disabilities who want to get a head start identifying supports, which will help ease the transition to college. Resources from all over campus will be highlighted. Answers to the following questions will be provided in an interactive, hands-on, fun way!

  • Where do I go to request supports?
  • Who can help me develop a schedule which meets my needs?
  • How do I advocate for myself?
  • Where are the resources on campus that are available to assist me with my studies?
  • How do I organize my class work and my time?
  • What do I do when I am stressed out?

The workshop cost $25 dollars ($50 for students who register and cancel). Students who attend this workshop will move into their rooms on Wednesday, August 25th. After moving in, participants and their parents are invited to attend a welcome dinner Wednesday evening. Later that evening there will be an activity for students. The workshop will be held on Thursday, August 26th from 8:30 - 5:00. Afterwards there will be a dinner at a local restaurant. All meals are included.

For more information, please contact  Marcia Wiedefeld by e-mail or calling (410) 617-2062.
