Mathematics Major

Applied Mathematics

Mathematical modeling in the physical and social sciences.
Bureau of Labor Statistics: Nature of the Work: Mathematician

Analysis I; MATLAB Programming in Mathematics; Advanced Linear Algebra; five other 400 level MA/ST courses; four courses in a related life, natural, social, or management science. Concentrators are required to take either Numerical Analysis or CS 202.

General Program

This concentration offers a survey of many areas of mathematics and is the option that offers the most flexibility in courses.  Consequently, it is the option that is most suited to students who wish to study abroad.

Concentrators are required to take either Numerical Analysis or CS 202.

Pure Mathematics

University and College teaching, academic and industrial research.
