Timothy Houghton, Ph.D., affiliate professor of writing, recently published his fifth collection of poems, The Height in Between. The collection, from Washington, D.C.’s Orchises Press, is described as “a musical exploration of memory and loss set in the context of the spaces we inhabit.”

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania who earned his Ph.D. from the University of Denver, Houghton teaches creative writing and literature at Loyola. He has received residencies and fellowships from Yaddo, the MacDowell Colony, Hawthornden Castle Retreat and others to advance his poetry, which has appeared in journals including the Malahat Review, Carolina Quarterly, Quarterly West, Chelsea, and Strand. His previous collections of poems include High Bridges, Drop Light, Below Two Skies, and Riding Untouched.
