Loyola’s 2011 Mass of the Holy Spirit, a tradition at Jesuit institutions, calling for wisdom at the beginning of the academic year, will be offered in remembrance of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Mass begins at 1:30 on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, in the Alumni Memorial Chapel on the University’s North Charles Street campus. The Reverend Brian F. Linnane, S.J., president of Loyola University Maryland, will preside. All are welcome.
In addition, the University will also host a rugby alumni day on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Ridley Athletic Complex’s Sean Lugano Memorial Field. The field is named for Sean Lugano, ’95, a club rugby captain killed in the World Trade Center attacks.
