Loyola University Maryland’s Julio Fine Arts Gallery will feature “Wonder and the Everyday,” an exhibit of sculpture, painting, and installation by Joseph Hu, from Monday, March 14 – Sunday, April 10. An artist talk and reception will be held on Thursday, March 24, from 5 – 7 p.m.
A native of Kansas City, Kan., Hu received his BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and his MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His work has been included in local, national, and international exhibitions. He is a recipient of a 2002 Visual Arts Fellowship from the Independence Foundation and was artist-in-residence in the spring of 2003 at the Altes Spital Begegnungszentrum in Solothurn, Switzerland. Most recently, he was artist-in-residence at the Holter Museum of Art in Helena, Mont., in 2007. Hu was a member of the Philadelphia artists cooperative Vox Populi from 2001 until 2006, where he also served as president and a member of the Board of Directors. He is currently a member of the Associate Board of Directors. He is represented by Pentimenti Gallery in Philadelphia.
The Julio Fine Arts Gallery, located in the DeChiaro College Center on Loyola’s North Charles Street campus, is open from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday and from 1 – 4 p.m. on Sundays.
