A group of Reading Education students at Loyola University Maryland will participate in Tellabration, the annual night of storytelling sponsored by the National Storytelling Network, on Saturday, Nov. 21. The 25 students will entertain the audience with tales ranging from "The Three Bears" to "A Bad Case of Stripes" to "Atalanta" during the event, which will be held from 7 - 9 p.m. in Knott Hall, Rooms B01 and B03, on Loyola's North Charles Street campus. The event is open to the public.
Serving as co-mistresses of ceremonies will be Ellie Shinham, course instructor, and Janice Curtis Greene, also known as Janice the Griot. Greene is a professional storyteller and president of the Griots' Circle of Maryland.
Audience members of all ages are welcome, but the length of the program may not work well for toddlers. The admission fee is a can of non-perishable food to benefit the Thanksgiving food drive run by Loyola's Center for Community Service and Justice.
