Loyola University Maryland

Annual Giving

Professor and Students; Humanities Building

Every year, thousands of alumni, parents, and friends of Loyola support the University. Their support allows Loyola to provide an excellent learning experience in the Catholic, Jesuit tradition of educating men and women who will have a profound impact on society and on the world. The University truly appreciates gifts of all sizes. We ask only for each alumnus to give in a way that is appropriate to his or her circumstances. Please know that every gift is vital to our success.

Here are just a few ways that your gift helps:

  • You're helping students get a great education. Tuition only covers 75 percent of the total cost to educate each student. Your gift bridges that gap and provides direct funding for educational initiatives such as scholarships, technology upgrades, service-learning opportunities, and library resources.
  • It enhances the value of a Loyola degree. Annual Fund gifts help to increase the alumni participation rate–the percentage of undergraduate alumni giving a gift to Loyola versus all members of our undergraduate alumni base. This percentage is a benchmark indicator of alumni satisfaction in rankings like U.S. News & World Report, which will directly influence top high school students’ decisions when choosing Loyola over other colleges and universities.
  • It’s a vote of confidence in Loyola. When the people closest to the University participate in the Annual Fund, it speaks volumes about the value of the institution.
  • You make a difference. Many companies and foundations base their decisions on where to distribute their six-figure gifts on alumni participation.

Every time you give, you restate your commitment to a community of people who are grateful for what the University has given them, realize Loyola’s potential, and want to be part of its' success.
